Bits & Masterpieces From My Summer 3D MODELING Art Class!

Hey guys, welcome or welcome back to my blog! Over the last month, I’ve been taking a summer class for 3D modeling. This was my first time taking an art class with 3D aspects, and it turned out to be so much fun. Since I turned in my final project yesterday, I wanted to share my favorite projects with you all. Let’s get started!

The battle axe was my third project in the class, but the first one where I didn’t just stack a bunch of cubes together. I made this with one cylinder and one cube– forming the shapes with extrude and bevel in blender.

Out of all my projects, this is my favorite one. At first, when my teacher said that we would be making a low poly animal (only one cube), it seemed like an impossible task. It took a lot of patience, but I was really proud of myself for focusing on the curves and details to make an elephant out of a cube.

This assignment was super fun! We were supposed to make one object but in two different styles. I chose to make some doors. My first one was a medieval door. It took twice as long and the modern door, because of the curved top and wooden planks.

Our last project before beginning the final, was to make a treasure chest. Everyone had to start with the same basic shapes: a hollow rectangle and half a cylinder. What set this project apart, was the theme that we chose. I decided to make mine like a small house. I added a chimney and some coins as a path. Since I finished early, my teacher showed me how to make transparent windows, which was really cool.

Finally, we’ve got my final project. I wanted to make a cute little personal library, in a curved shape. The building, table, chairs and lamp were fairly simple after all the practice I got in class. The books on the other hand took me two whole days! Overall, I was really happy with my final product!

As for my questions, I only have 2 so far:
    1. Why did you start blogging? How are you finding it so far?
    2. Which song do you think defines you the most?
